Northcentral University for Online Degrees? Get Your Online Degree!

Northcentral University is an accredited online university based in Arizona USA. Northcentral was meant to be an online university offering online degrees, although it now has a suburban and urban campus, not meant for permanent and full time students. Northcentral University offered business administration and psychology initially, and later expanded, offering interesting diverse courses and programmes online. Northcentral University is accredited, but there are some problems with respect to recognition in some quarters. More research should be done here. Northcentral University is nevertheless mainly an online university and even though it may not be considered a key player handing out online degrees, it is worth time and effort considering it in competition with other universities.

There are many positive evaluations about Northcentral University’s Business Administration and MBA programmes. Overall courses are perceived to be developed, engaging, relevant and practical, although there are occasional course problems administrative problems for some subjects.

Secondly, as Northcentral University is an accredited online university, it hands out bachelors degrees, masters degrees, MBAs, and doctorates PhDs. That means that it caters to all students and all needs of students in search of their online education.

The subjects and programmes offered at Northcentral are: applied computer science, computer and information security, criminal justice, business quantitative methods, e-commerce, financial management, health care, homeland security, HR management, psychology, management, management information systems, management of engineering, international business, organisational leadership, public administration, marketing, and even sports management leadership. These are a wide range of good courses.

There is a 10% discount if you pay tuition in full the moment you enrol. This option is not as easy as it seems and there are qualifications and things you need to consider before going for this deal. Apart from paying for the online degree programmes in full, you can also pay by term and pay monthly. These loan options at Northcentral are interesting and innovative and are better than other online colleges which offer standard loans, scholarships and government grants. At the same time there are many other options. There are also qualifying lenders for Northcentral University’s tuition, and those are: SallieMae’s Signature Student Loan, Wells Fargo’s Education Connection Loan, and the Pentagon Federal Credit Union education loans. In addition, there are various payment options and systems for both undergraduate level and postgrad levels.

“We create a unique 100% online academic program just for you. Pursue your professional interests, receive personalized guidance from Faculty Mentors, and schedule learning at your own pace. Many online schools mandate weekly attendance, campus residency, and rigid, inflexible program requirements and term schedules. Not NCU!” This is what the NCU professors tell you in their advertising. Good reasons?

These are their reasons for studying with Northcentral and I think that these are good reasons for you to consider. Payment in terms of the payment costs of your education is reasonable, the payment schedule is rather convenient and systematic, there are many good loan opportunities and work and earn opportunities that are good chances to make money while studying to pay for fees, and in addition, Northcentral University has no known controversies which is excellent for its reputation. There are many good reasons to study there. It might be worth your consideration for online degrees, especially masters and PhDs. All the best for your education and thanks and cheers for reading.

Question by creatureofhabit: Is anyoune familiar with Northcentral University?
Northcentral University offer accredited, advanced degrees 100% online. They appear to be legit, but I am still leary of schools without classrooms. Has anyone had experience with this program (NCU or any other) that might help me decide?

Answer by jowindso38834
I just looked into a program there in regards to a M.A. in Sports Administration. The accrediting agency that accredits the university is the same that accredits UCLA, Michigan, Floriday, etc…..

I haven’t decided on it yet, but my research thus far seems promising.

The University of Phoenix is accredited in the same way as well.

A Critical Look at Reform Math

A Critical Look at Reform Math

First, there was New Math, which everyone said was a failure. So the educators went back to their labs and came up with Reform Math. But the public knew this was just the same old stuff, and called it “New New Math” to show contempt. A more accurate title might be Muddled Math.

Reform Math is actually an umbrella term for a dozen programs such as Connected Math, Everyday Mathematics, MathLand, TERC, etc. What they have in common is an inability to teach math. (And they’re very expensive.) By my analysis, these programs incorporate a lot of unproven fads, while scorning traditional methods that are known to work. Across the country, millions of hours are wasted while parents fight school systems over these counterproductive strategies. There’s a lot of anger out there.

Parents complain that their children are not taught even basic arithmetic. Students reach college unable to multiply 6 x 7 without a calculator. Math scores continue to fall, which is a major threat to the American economy.

What is to be done? On YouTube an educator in New Jersey foolishly declares: “We can’t go back.” I think he’s wrong. We can go back. The sooner the better. When allowed to choose, most parents prefer a solid foundation, such as that provided by Saxon Math or Singapore Math. The proper sequence is basics first, then a smooth progression toward more sophisticated materials. Reform Math’s sin is that it creates a big hodge-podge, and children end up more confused than educated.

Reform Math loves instructional gimmicks. Constructivist Theory says that children have to invent everything for themselves. Group Learning says that children must work in groups, guaranteeing that students can’t do independent work. Fuzzy Math says that correct answers don’t matter; it’s the process of looking for answers that is important. No Memorization says that children should remain empty-headed. Self Esteem says don’t teach much, don’t correct much, don’t expect much…Stir all this stuff together, and it’s not surprising that American kids aren’t good at math.

The main sophistry that sustains this whole charade is that children are learning to “think critically about math.” Even if they can’t multiply or divide. Please! We’re talking about very young children. If they don’t master basic arithmetic, they will feel alienated from math altogether. This “critical thinking” business is perhaps the silliest of the fads. Children who know nothing are hailed as “critical thinkers.”

My feeling is that Reform Math is emblematic of a larger problem in American education. There’s a lot of make-believe, a lot of pretending. We see books, classes, endless projects, some homework, grades, tests. From a distance you might think that children are being educated. Then you consider the fact that from K to 12, children are in school almost 12,000 hours, but they somehow reach graduation without learning very much. Ask them the simplest questions. Where is Japan on a map? How much is 8 times 7? Many won’t know.

The US used to have the best-educated work force. Now we are in 10th place. Bogus math programs are arguably a big part of that decline. How are we going to get back to where we were? Doing so would be a big boost for our future.

The first part of the answer is to tell the truth. American educators seem more dedicated to dumbing down then smartening up. We can’t know motives. But we can surely agree that dumbed-down is where a lot of students end up!

The best you can say, I think, is that the people behind Reform Math are inept. So-called experts should be ashamed of themselves. Let’s toss out all the fuzzy math programs, and make sure kids can add, subtract, multiply and divide, quickly and efficiently.

Question by Jerie: can two people use the same math lab code?
I am taking Intro Algebra this fall Math 0312. My friend is also taking the same course and has Math Lab already. I was wondering if I could use the same code so that I don’t have to purchase it. Does anyone know if two people can use the same code.

Question by ronaldinjhofav: Is Clemson university among the top universities like Georgia Tech?
I would like to know the ranking of Clemson university. Is it a top university? Is it a private university? Is it among the top-graded universities? What about the placements? Please help. How do you compare Goergia Tech with Clemson ?Is the former a good university?

Best answer:

Answer by Ryan H
Clemson is a public, land-grant university. It has been ranked the 22nd-best public university in the country for 2 years in a row now (and I believe 61st best university overall?), so yes it’s an excellent school. It has an outstanding engineering program that is highly respected throughout the Southeast, in engineering hubs around the country (i.e. Washington DC, Washington State), and indeed nationwide. It is one of the harder schools to get into.

Georgia Tech is absolutely an excellent school as well and you would do well to be accepted by either institution. I think Georgia Tech probably has a better reputation than Clemson as an engineering school, but I suspect that’s because it has a huge focus on engineering itself while Clemson has a much broader set of majors in engineering, science, humanities, and the liberal arts.
